Betz Family Winery
Washington State is now the second largest wine-growing state in the USA. But when Bob Betz founded his winery there with his family in 1997, he was one of the pioneers. Today, Betz wines are state of the art.
The material for the single-varietal Syrah La Serenne comes from the highest and therefore the last of the 5 hectares of Syrah plots harvested by the Betz Family Winery. The vineyard is called Boushey Vineyard and the Syrah grapes from there prove once again in the most impressive way that - apart from Pinot Noir - they are able to reflect the terroir from which they originate like no other red grape variety. This deep purple-coloured Syrah is wild and irrepressible, with notes of smoked meat and leather, alongside white pepper, red and exotic fruit and fine lavender blossom. The extremely long finish is crowned by cocoa and espresso, surrounded by a highly elegant mineral note.
