Like Achleiten, the Klaus vineyard lies at around 300 meters above sea level, but is an eastern slope facing Dürnstein. The wines here are always very different: cool, dark mineral from the barren gneiss and granite. The wine is reminiscent of limes and raspberries, apples and cassis. This is a gripping, racy, highly refined and demanding wine with a vibrant minerality, sharp as a sword and yet highly animating with rock salt and great juiciness.
