The organic winery from the high plateau in St.-Émilion has been producing rather finer, leaner wines for years, which sometimes seem a little atypical for the appellation, but are inspiring in this style: rather red berry with flavours of sour cherries underpinned with a fine acidity and minerality that gives the wine freshness. 2020 is one of the best Macquins produced to date.

The estate is owned by the third generation of the Corre-Macquin family, who were able to recruit the duo Nicolas Thienpont and Stéphane Derenoncourt as winery director and advisor as early as 1994. Today, Cyrille Thienpont increasingly takes over from his father, and their names have long stood for excellence.
