When it comes to red Burgundy, the Rudolf Fürst winery is one of the benchmarks in Germany. In addition to the two premium vineyards Centgrafenberg and Hundsrück, a Pinot Noir of remarkable class is also vinified in Bürgstadt from the 1st vineyard Berg. No wonder, as the grapes for this wine also come exclusively from plots located within the two Grand Cru sites. The 2020 Berg is highly elegant and remarkably dry, with juicy cherry fruit and a hint of raspberry and black pepper. A fine acidity accompanies the remarkably long finish - a perfect accompaniment to game birds or braised veal.

At home in Bürgstatt am Main, in the westernmost corner of Franconia, the winery looks back on a tradition of almost 400 years. in 1997, Paul and Monika Fürst took over the business, renovated parcels and acquired more. Since 2018, the management has been in the hands of their son Sebastian and his wife Isabell. Today, the vineyard covers 21 ha and is 60% planted with Pinot Noir. In addition, there is Frühburgunder, Chardonnay, Weißburgunder and Riesling.
