Léoville Barton is the most powerful, concentrated and original wine of the three Léoville vineyards in St. Julien. It is almost unapproachable when young and only develops its full complexity and maturity after a few years. The 2020 presents the full splendour of this vintage in a cool way with lots of black berry fruit and dark chocolate.Everything is powerful, concentrated and yet incredibly elegant and fine.The acidity is present at this stage and gives a lot of backbone to the wine, which seems endlessly long on the finish and holds great promise for the future.A great classic from St Julien.

The almost 50-hectare château is the result of the division of the once large Leoville vineyard. Almost 30 years before the classification of Médoc wines in 1855, it was owned by the Bartons, a family of merchants from Bordeaux with Irish roots.
