Château Trotanoy
Among the names internationally associated with the rise of Bordeaux is undoubtedly that of the Moueix family. jean-Pierre Moueix started his wine business in 1937, and from the 1950s vineyards were also acquired.
The so-called Plateau in Pomerol is home to all the greats: Petrus, Le Pin, Lafleur ... and also Trotanoy. Its "Grand Vin" is at least on a par with these wines, sometimes even better. But unfortunately, there are only very few bottles of this small winery run by Christian Moueix. At first, the "Trotanoy" is always somewhat unapproachable, concentrated and closed. But after years of ageing, it becomes a grandiose wine that almost knocks your socks off with its finesse, florality and elegance! The result in 2020: James Suckling gives it 100 points, Jeb Dunnuck gives it 100 points and Decanter also awards it 100 points!
