The Chardonnay 2021 "Steinriegel? from Albert Gesellmann comes from 43-year-old vines on a gentle south-facing slope with chalky gravel soil. The organically produced grapes were fermented spontaneously for 40 days after whole cluster pressing and then matured for 15 months on the fine lees in small wooden barrels. The strong, straw-yellow Chardonnay with green reflections is reminiscent of slightly reductive flint notes, grapefruit, mango and some melon, stone fruit and kumquats. Juicy, taut, powerful, yellow-fruity and long on the palate with lively acidity and a fine salted caramel finish.
