Since 2011, Bürgstadter Hundsrück, named after its topology, has once again been an independent single vineyard. But even back in the days when it was still "just' a vineyard within the Centgrafenberg, quality fanatics Paul Fürst and his son Sebastian had already started to vinify the best grapes from the Hundsrück in their own selection. 40% slope, pure southern exposure, red weathered rock characterised by iron oxide. Raspberry fruit, herbs and tannin contours deliver elegance and opulence in equal measure. Both merge to create a level of complexity that is hard to find anywhere else in Germany. Pinot Noir on a par with Burgundy - and at a fraction of the price.

At home in Bürgstatt am Main, in the westernmost corner of Franconia, the winery looks back on a tradition of almost 400 years. in 1997, Paul and Monika Fürst took over the business, renovated parcels and acquired more. Since 2018, the management has been in the hands of their son Sebastian and his wife Isabell. Today, the vineyard covers 21 ha and is 60% planted with Pinot Noir. In addition, there is Frühburgunder, Chardonnay, Weißburgunder and Riesling.
