In recent years, the Württemberg wine-growing region has gained considerable attention. One of the pioneers of this development is Rainer Schnaitmann from Fellbach. This is where the organic-certified Großes Gewächs (since 2016) from the Lämmler vineyard, which Schnaitmann describes as the "centrepiece' of the winery, comes from. Calcareous Keuper, reed sandstone, marl and colourful loam provide the soil for the estate's flagship Riesling GG. The 2017 shows remarkable depth and concentration. Citrus and stone fruit mingle with herbaceous notes and mineral tones. The long lees ageing and bottling without filtration contribute significantly to the complexity. A wine that needed some time, but is now at the beginning of its ideal drinking maturity.
