Winery Markus Schneider Sauvignon Blanc Magnum 2022

Even the name Kaitui - which means "tailor' in Maori - gives a more than clear indication of the style of this Palatinate Sauvignon Blanc. Markus Schneider's role models are not in the Loire, but clearly in New Zealand. The grapes come from cool limestone plots, supplemented by a few warmer sites. The result is a deeply flavoured white wine with plenty of pressure, fresh acidity and a deep mineral backbone. Above all, however, with a whole basket full of expressive fruit: spiky and blackcurrant, kiwi and passion fruit, green apple and grapefruit. Pese Wein recommends trying it with a green Thai curry or simply with grilled fennel or asparagus.
