Winery Markus Schneider Champ de Pierre 2022

The Chardonnay CHAMP DE PIERRE comes from the 'Steinfeld' below the Haardtgebirge near Kirchheim. The plot is dramatically exposed on a limestone hill. The small single vineyard - exclusively for Pese Wein - consists of 10-year-old Burgundy clones and is matured in ceramic amphorae. Fully fermented with just under 1g of residual sugar, this wine is characterised by its salty minerality. The nose has delicate apricot and a hint of pineapple jam. Very full-bodied and juicy on the palate, with the fruit receding into the background. Salty, long-lasting finish and always animating. The moderate acidity is very well integrated. Drinking window at least until 2030 - decant when young.
