The Trockenbeerenauslese Grande Cuvée No. 5 "Nouvelle Vague? 2019 is the flagship among Kracher's Trockenbeerenauslese wines "when it comes to balance, finesse and complexity. Other TBAs may be sweeter, fruitier and even more concentrated, but none is more harmonious, more complete,? writes Stephan Reinhardt in his 98-point rating for WINE ADVOCATE. The TBA made from 60% Welschriesling from large Slavonian oak barrels and 40% Chardonnay from barriques is extremely precise and delicate with a dense nose of apricots, peaches, quinces, oranges and apples in candied, dried and fresh form. There are also notes of vanilla, ginger, lemon and salted caramel. On the palate, the wine is opulent and rich, yet elegant, fine and silky.
