Rarely do we have such a hedonistic Barolo in our weekly tasting round. Michele Chiarlo always manages to get the best out of the sometimes diva-like Nebbiolo grape variety. Juicy, complex and elegant with plenty of finesse, the wine grabs you right from the floral nose full of rose petals and violets. The fleshy palate with a delicate bite precedes a long finish with sensual aromas of cherries and raspberries. This is so much fun!

Château Olivier is located just eleven kilometres from Bordeaux, in the Graves region, in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Its history dates back to the Middle Ages. Around 1870, it was acquired by Alexandre de Bethmann, the mayor of Bordeaux at the time. Today, the estate is still in the hands of his descendants.
