Torbreck Vintners The Steading Blanc 2021

South Australia - Barossa Valley, Australia, White wine, wine cuvée
0.75 l

"The Steading Blanc' is the white counterpart to the well-known red "The Steading?. Like the latter, the white version is also inspired by the classic Rhône wines and draws on their grape varieties. The 2021 is a cuvée made from 50% Roussanne, 43% Marsanne and 7% Viognier from a vineyard planted in Marananga in 1994. It was aged for eight months on the lees in used and new French oak barrels. The wine is reminiscent of white flowers and stone fruit, kaffir lime and guava, ginger, turmeric and a little beeswax. On the palate, it is silky and juicy with opulent fruit, pronounced spice and finely chiselled acidity that leads to a mineral finish.

Torbreck Vintners

Founded in 1994 by Dave Powell, the Torbreck winery in Australia's Barossa Valley is one of the continent's best-known. Above all, it stands for the preservation of a unique heritage of vines up to 170 years old. Torbreck produces great wines from old, so-called ancestor vines and has gradually expanded its portfolio in an impressive way over time.
