Tenuta Pian delle Vigne, located 6 kilometres from Montalcino, has been part of the Antinori empire since 1995. As the name of the place suggests, the local Sangiovese clone Brunello di Montalcino grows here. Promoting its aromatic integrity as much as possible is the maxim of the estate's cultivation philosophy. In order to preserve the impressive fruit of Brunello as far as possible, the wine is matured in large oak barrels after the destemmed grapes have been fermented in stainless steel. Malolactic fermentation is followed by around 2 years in wooden barrels of up to 8,000 litres. The result is a highly complex, equally balsamic and fruity Brunello of great elegance.
