Winery Malat Leukuschberg Grüner Veltliner Kremstal DAC 2021

Kremstal, Austria, White wine, Grüner Veltliner
0.75 l

The winery has only been bottling Grüner Veltliner from the Leukuschberg since 2019. The wines grown here on a mixture of loess and humus-rich soil are fine and delicate. The high proportion of organic material in the second component ensures moisture management, which is becoming increasingly important in times of climate change. The Veltliners from this still young vineyard are characterised by multi-faceted, multi-layered elegance. However, its potential is already more than clear. Peter Moser noted delicate grapefruit, Golden Delicious apple, some apricot, floral tones, orange zest, tobacco and white stone fruit for Falstaff. He also praised the length and ageing potential and awarded 93 points.

Malat Winery

The history of the Malat winery in Kremstal dates back to the 18th century. This means almost 300 years of wine knowledge, from which Michael Malat still benefits today: "Because every vintage is different, there is no recipe. When it comes to upcoming decisions, the experiences of the predecessors are very helpful. Maybe someone had a similar situation, tried something - and the result is handed down."
