Château de Fieuzal
If there is such a thing as a bank in the Graves appellation, it is Château de Fieuzal, with an excellent red Cru de Graves and an equally outstanding white wine, albeit a much rarer one.
Especially in this somewhat more delicate vintage, the red Fieuzal shows that the enormous improvements of the past are bearing fruit. It has reached a new level within the Pessac Leognan appellation. The clear fruit and silky tannins are supported by a ripe acidity. If you put the high rating (94-96 WA) in context with the price, it is clearly one of THE insider tips this year.
