Château de Fieuzal
If there is such a thing as a bank in the Graves appellation, it is Château de Fieuzal, with an excellent red Cru de Graves and an equally outstanding white wine, albeit a much rarer one.
Château de Fieuzal Blanc Pessac Leognan Magnum 2020
Great white Pessac Leognan has been produced here for years. And this is probably the best value for money in the appellation. Fascinating when young with razor-sharp but ripe acidity and wonderfully dignified and elegant with age ... just think of the legendary 1992 vintage, which is still so fresh and delicate today. The 2020 is certainly a little more opulent due to the character of the vintage, but it wouldn't be Fieuzal if they hadn't turned it into a grandiose white wine with breathtaking finesse and tremendous tension. The white fruit flavours and salty minerality reveal the full potential of Château Fieuzal!
