Joint ventures with European involvement on American soil are not uncommon. The reverse, however, is a rare exception. Tenuta Luce is one such rarity, founded by the Frescobaldi and Mondavi families ? two names that set high expectations, which the "Luce? effortlessly fulfills. The 2021 vintage, made from equal parts Merlot and Sangiovese, is a textbook Supertuscan. It strikes a masterful balance between bold expression (dark berries, spices, tobacco, chocolate), refined acidity, and a touch of minerality from the legendary Galestro soil. Finely polished tannins and aging potential well into the middle of this century complete the picture.
