Château Leoville Las Cases 2ème GCC St. Julien 2021

As much as it is said to be close to Pauillac (stylistically, not geographically), in the 2021 vintage, Leoville Las Cases is completely St. Julien...with all its elegance and finesse. In general, the 2ème Cru Classé has evolved from an unapproachable long-distance runner to an elegant gentleman. This vintage in particular shows how elegant and refined Las Cases can be, despite its complexity and power. An almost sensual black fruit, silky tannins, but also a great deal of density, which again calls for a few years of ageing, just not as long as it once did...
