As with many wineries in this category and style, Leoville Las Cases has developed a very hedonistic style. This was particularly noticeable in the grandiose 2022. The 2ème Cru Classé from St. Julien has long been the best St. Julien and a serious challenger to the Premier Cru from the immediate neighborhood in Pauillac (the winery borders directly on Château Latour). The 2024 is amazingly red-fruited. Fine elegance and juicy fruit complement each other in great harmony with the ripe acidity and polished tannins.
