"Ars Magna? is the name of the premium line from the German-led winery founded in 2007. And the 2020 Chardonnay fully lives up to the name's promise of uncompromising excellence. Selective hand harvesting of vines rooted in sandy loam, 48 hours of cold maceration, gentle pressing, and fermentation partly in stainless steel and partly in new barriques form the foundation. This is followed by around a year of lees aging in barrique with regular bâtonnage, and another year of bottle maturation ? culminating in an intensely spicy Chardonnay, marked by delicate peach fruit, subtle toasted notes, and an impressively refined herbal spice.

Viticulture has existed in the Latium region for around 2500 years. The Omina Romana winery, founded by Anton and Katharina Börner, has been in existence since 2007. With the clear goal of producing only top-quality wines, the founders chose an area near Velletri, 40 kilometres southeast of Rome.
