In view of the outstanding quality of the wines produced by Pahlmeyer under the Jayson label, the term "second wine' clearly falls short. This is also the case with the 2021 "Jayson by Pahlmeyer' Chardonnay - quite a few wineries would be proud to be able to produce a comparable quality as the top of their range. The wine offers a powerful body of almost baroque opulence, caresses the palate with silky orange blossom and caramelised pineapple surrounded by woody vanilla and is carried in equal parts by fresh, perfectly integrated acidity and the beguilingly complex aromas of barrique ageing and one hundred percent malolactic fermentation.
