Teliani Valley Winery 97 Kakhuri No. 8 White 2022
The "Kakhuri No. 8' from 2022 is what is known as an "orange wine', or in technical terms: a mash-fermented white wine. It is typical for Georgian white wines to be fermented like red wines, i.e. on the skins, which gives the wine an amber colour, but also a little tannin. This wine is a cuvée made from the traditional Georgian grape varieties Rkatsiteli, Kakhuri Mtsvane, Khikhvi and Kisi, matured in stainless steel. The wine smells of honey, dried plums and dates, fruit tea and a little candied ginger. It is juicy on the palate, with silky tannins and an inspiring freshness and presence. A perfect accompaniment to food.
