Winery Omina Romana Chardonnay 2022
Sandy loam forms the soil for this Chardonnay, planted at a density of 5,800 vines/ha and yielding 60 hl/ha – right in the sweet spot for premium wines. After harvest, 48 hours of cold soak precede pressing; fermentation takes place in stainless steel and partly new French oak barriques. The wine then rests six months on the lees and another six months in bottle. The result is a balanced and harmonious Chardonnay with plenty of ripe fruit (peach), floral notes (broom), and subtle toasted aromas from oak. Remarkable, too, are the elegant mineral notes and the intense, long finish.
