Blackberry cake, crème de cassis and black cherry compote, chocolate-covered cherries, violets, tobacco, smoke and graphite, as well as five spices in the bouquet. Concentrated, voluminous, ripe but precise on the palate, yet clear, with invigorating acidity and fine, graceful tannins. Up to 99 points (Jeb Dunnuck) for this great Pessac, which has decades ahead of it. What a flawless creature!

Château Haut-Bailly

Haut Bailly is one of the oldest chateaus in Bordeaux. It is located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in the north of the Graves growing region.

Naturally, there have been several owners over the past 500 years. The 1998 takeover by Robert G. Willmers, a banker from Buffalo, who died in 2017, is particularly influential for today's estate.
