F. X. Pichler's "Unendlich' wines are among the great iconic wines that Austria has to offer the world of wine lovers. This applies to the Riesling of the same name as well as to this Grüner Veltliner. It is nothing less than a monument, grown on a triad of slate, gneiss and primary rock, matured in large wooden barrels. The 2021 vintage is highly concentrated, with a lush, rich body and an impressive 14.5% alcohol content of lavish fullness, yet there is an astonishingly intense freshness that prevents it from drifting into clumsy opulence. An opulent wine – yet precisely chiselled down to the smallest detail. Great Veltliner may be possible in other ways – but it certainly doesn't get any better than this.

Winery F.X. Pichler

The Pichlers have a good 20 hectares in Toprieden (vineyards). These are located in the direct vicinity of the winery in Loiben and Dürnstein. A little more than half of the area is planted with Grüner Veltliner, the other half with Riesling. There is also a small amount of Gelber Muskateller and a little Sauvignon Blanc.
