Château Lascombes La Côte Magnum Margaux 2022
We were introduced to a fascinating new wine from Château Lascombes at an exclusive tasting. A very special wine is produced from old Merlot vines on a small 4.5-hectare plot near the Gironde. The new director, Axel Heinz (formerly of Ornellaia/Masseto), selected this plot with limestone/clay soils to produce "La Côte.? The wine completely blew us away. Cool dark fruit, pure elegance, and silky tannins. Great complexity awaits on the palate, and the finish is characterized by high minerality and salinity. A great wine!
