Bodega Chacra Cincuenta y Cinco Pinot Noir 2024
The name refers to the planting of the Pinot Noir vines used. The vineyard was planted in 1955 in a sea of pebbles in a former riverbed. The "Cincuenta y Cinco' is fermented at low temperatures as whole grapes, which brings out the floral characteristics of the wine. The wine is aged for eleven months, 50% in concrete tanks and 50% in French oak barrels that have been used two, three and four times. This is an incredibly pure, precise Pinot with high tension and a successful combination of floating lightness and vibration as well as grounded depth and minerality. Aromatically, it is reminiscent of lavender and violets, blueberries and cherries, peaches and wild strawberries with iodine, blood orange and a hint of smoke and game.
