Bodega Chacra Mainqué Chardonnay Patagonia 2024
Mainqué is another magnificent Patagonian Chardonnay, the result of a collaboration between Piero Incisa della Rocchetta (Sassicaia) and legendary Burgundy winemaker Jean-Marc Roulot. The vineyard is cultivated organically and biodynamically, and the winery follows a hands-off approach. Malolactic fermentation is not used. The wine is fermented and aged for ten months, 18% in concrete eggs, 25% in stainless steel tanks and 57% in French oak barrels (12% new). It is an extremely precise and linear, powerful yet crystal-clear and bright Chardonnay with a deep intensity of stone fruit, citrus and salt, crushed oyster shell and rock. A great Chardonnay from the south.
