Stephan Neipperg is primarily known for his great wines from the "rive droite". But in 2002, together with Didier Miqueu, he also invested in Pessac-Léognan and produces fragrant, fine wines at Clos Marsalette that you should definitely discover. Clos Marsalette is still a young winery, founded in 1992 by Francois Boutemy. Count von Neipperg was already a silent partner at the time and then took over the winery in 2002 together with Didier Miqueu.

The vineyard extends over gravel knolls from old alluvial deposits of the Garonne. The subsoil consists of marine sediments from the Miocene and Pliocene periods as well as more or less clayey tertiary shell sand, reddish sand and coloured clay. 12.3 hectares are planted with red varieties, namely 49% each of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc. The white varieties are divided into 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Sémillon on just 1.3 hectares. The vineyards are cultivated organically and biodynamically. The result is fine, charming, elegant and fresh wines from the upper middle class of Bordeaux that offer wonderful excitement and drinking pleasure. This is pure gourmandise!
