Château Haut Bages Libéral

The wines of the G&C Lurton Group, which also include the Margaux Grand Cru Classés Château Ferrière and Château Durfons Vivens, are all vinified according to the Demeter principle, i.e. strictly biodynamically. Gonzague and Claire Lurton are pioneers in biodynamics and are also the largest landowners in Bordeaux in this area.

Château Haut Bages Liberal is no exception. The Grand Cru Classé vineyard in Pauillac has undergone enormous development over the last 20 years. It is a fascinating combination of power, elegance and finesse. The wines are always in perfect balance, never aggressive or overloaded.

As is typical for Pauillac, the cuvée consists mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon and only around 15-20% Merlot. As a result, the wines are powerful and long-lived, typical of Pauillac, but with their very own philosophy. In addition to sustainability, the strictly biodynamic cultivation produces precise, energetic wines, which always transfer great freshness and minerality to the wine due to the highly calcareous subsoil.
