The impressive and still affordable Grand Cru Classé from Pauillac shows in the classic 2021 vintage why it is always one of the best deals in Bordeaux. Somewhat overshadowed by the big players such as the three Premiers and the two Pichon estates, it has moved into the ranks directly behind them thanks to its sustainable organic winegrowing and classic Pauillac virtues. Very Cabernet Sauvignon-influenced this year, it pleases with complex, subtle dark berry fruit. Although you can feel enormous pressure on the palate, everything is elegant and finely balanced, which is also due to the subtle use of wood. You immediately sense that great meticulousness and quality have been applied here. And still at an affordable price. A big recommendation this year!
