Château Sansonnet

"An exceptional terroir for an exceptional wine"

Buy wines from Château Sansonnet

Château Sansonnet sits enthroned on the high plateau of St. Emilion with just 7 hectares of vineyards around the château. Its wines, which consist of around 85% Merlot (plus Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon), are always characterised by an intense and juicy aroma of sour cherries and blackcurrants, complemented by fine wood and exquisite spices.

With the reclassification in 2012, Château Sansonnet was included in the exclusive circle of Grand Cru Classés of St. Emilion.

This was the result of continuous improvements and constant endeavours to work as close to nature as possible. Dr Marie-Bénédicte Lefévère, who took over the management of the winery in 2009 and has brought it forward with great determination and energy, played a key role in this.

With great meticulousness in the vineyard and parcel-by-parcel fermentation, the team around Dominique Bordeneuve and Jean Trias has finally succeeded and justifies the Cru Classé status every year anew.
