Buy wines from Domaine des Lambrays

Domaine des Lambrays is located directly on its legendary monopollage, the Grand Cru Clos des Lambrays. These Pinots are among the finest and longest-lived Burgundy wines.
The origins of the Clos des Lambrays date back to the Middle Ages, when the vineyard belonged to the then famous noble Lambrey family, who leased at least part of it to the Abbey of Cîteaux. After the French Revolution, the property passed to various owners who owned 75 plots. By the middle of the 19th century, the négociant Louis Joly had bought up almost all of the individual plots and combined them into a single vineyard. He was followed by the négociant Rodier and the Parisian banker's wife Renée Cosson. They managed the vineyard, but did not bring it back into shape. From 1970 onwards, it was mainly referred to as the "Clos délabré", a run-down vineyard.

With the brothers Fabien and Louis Saier and oenologist Thierry Brouhin as cellar masters, the Clos was revitalised and declared a Grand Cru in 1981. In 1996, Günter Freund from Koblenz took over the winery and the vineyards and helped it achieve further fame. it was taken over by LVHM in 2014. The company spares no expense or effort to produce the best that is possible.
In addition to the Clos du Lambrays, it now owns four village sites in Morey-Saint-Denis, two plots in the 1er Cru Les Loups, from which two wines are produced, as well as two plots in Puligny-Montrachet, the 1er Crus Clos du Cailleret and Les Folatières, which also produce wines. The estate also includes a château and an old wine cellar dating back to the 17th century, as well as one of the most beautiful gardens in the region. A 300-year-old cedar tree, orchids and roses grow in the garden.
