The domaine is famous above all for its Grand Cru vineyard, "Clos des Lambrays', which it owns in its entirety apart from a single 4.2-acre plot. However, even the village wine, whose grapes come mainly from plots situated above it, displays a quality that is remarkable for its more modest status. The grapes are fully destemmed and aged for around 17 months in barrels, 20% of which are new. In the glass, the wine is exceptionally fresh and elegant. Raspberry and other dark berries are complemented by hints of fennel, other spices, cedar and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a delicate, peppery-mineral finish.

The Domaine des Lambrays is located directly on its legendary monopollage, the Grand Cru Clos des Lambrays. These Pinots are among the finest and longest-lived Burgundy wines. The origins of the Clos des Lambrays date back to the Middle Ages, when the vineyard belonged to the then famous noble Lambrey family, who leased at least part of it to the Abbey of Cîteaux.
