Domaine Fabien Coche

"Still a Meursault insider tip"

Buy wines from Domaine Fabien Coche

The name Coche has a firm place in the wine world. Most people automatically think of Coche-Dury and overlook the finely polished "gems" from Fabien Coche, which inspire with their quiet and haunting tones.

It is often the loud and expressive that counts. This is no different in the world of wine. Some wineries experience an insane amount of hype, others remain almost undiscovered. This cannot be said of Fabien Coche's domaine either, but the winemaker is definitely much quieter and less conspicuous than his cousin Raphaël from Domaine Coche-Dury.

Both wine estates belonged to the same family until 1940. They were then divided into the Domaines Coche-Bizouard and Domaine Coche-Dury. Julien Coche was in charge of Domaine Coche-Bizouard, which at the time only covered one hectare.

The estate was made famous by his son Alain, who expanded the wines in the 1980s and 1990s before passing the baton on to his son Fabien. The wines that Fabien Coche has been producing in Meursault ever since are the epitome of finesse, tension, elegance and depth. They are captivating right from the start and at the same time have very good ageing potential. The wines are matured for up to 18 months in wooden barrels with a maximum of 20% new wood and sometimes also in stainless steel.
