Buy wines from Château Troplong Mondot
With 43 hectares of vineyards, Château Troplong Mondot is one of the largest in the Saint-Émilion appellation. It also has a terroir with a perfect soil structure and orientation.
Founded in the 18th century, it was more recently the late Christine Valete who helped the château to new fame with her commitment from the 1980s onwards. Together with oenologist Michelle Roland, she led Troplong Mondot to the top. This was followed in 2006 by the promotion to the Premiers Grands Crus Classés category.
The château has been owned by the reinsurer SCOR since 2017 and is now under the management of Aymeric de Gironde (CEO) and Hénry Monribot (Technical Director).
The vineyards are located to the east of Saint-Émilion on a limestone base covered by a layer of clay. They are up to 110 metres above sea level and face in all directions, but mainly to the south. The grape variety is typically dominated by Merlot (85 %), followed by Cabernet Sauvignon (13 %) and Cabernet Franc (2 %).
Troplong Mondot stands for a fruity, full-bodied and concentrated style.
