Buy wines from Fournier Pere & Fils
In Verdigny, in the heart of the Sancerre appellation, is the Fournier Pere & Fils winery, founded in 1926. Over time, the vineyards have expanded to include the neighbouring areas of Menetou-Salon and Pouilly-Fumé. In total, 39 ha are cultivated. Naturally, Sauvignon is the main grape variety here. There is also Pinot Noir.
Sancerre is a flagship appellation of the Loire and a worldwide benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc. Domaine Fournier Père et Fils shaped the creation of the appellation in 1936 and is now one of its most active ambassadors.
Menetou-Salon is, in a way, the western "extension" of Sancerre and the jewel of the Centre Loire region. The soils of the "Terres Blanches" (marl and clay) give the wines silky and intense notes.
Pouilly-Fumé is located on the Burgundian bank of the Loire and produces rich and complex Sauvignon Blanc.
