The van Nahmen family business on the Lower Rhine has been around for more than 100 years. In 2007, Peter van Nahmen launched the first single-variety gourmet juices. A game changer in the world of non-alcoholic drinks.
When Wilhelm van Nahmen II transformed the Rheinische Apfelkrautfabrik founded by his father Wilhelm I into a contract cidery in the 1930s, it was not to be expected that the juices from a press house in Hamminkeln on the Lower Rhine would one day become an export hit. But he already focussed on producing high-quality juices from regional fruit. in 1990, Rainer van Nahmen added a crucial detail to the product range. He introduced "apple juice from orchards". At that time, the old standard trees were increasingly threatening to disappear from the landscape and so the van Nahmens started a project together with NABU, the German Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union, to preserve the old cultural landscape.

For Dr Peter van Nahmen, this sustainable management is also the basis of everything he does: „Our own claim is derived from our conviction that sustainable management can only be achieved by preserving old traditions, combined with innovative, contemporary and tasty products.“ In order to preserve individual fruit varieties that are threatened with extinction, the van Nahmens have been pressing single-variety juices from old fruit varieties such as the red star turnip, the Haus plum and the Constantinople apple quince since 2007. The highlight was that van Nahmen filled these juices in Bordeaux bottles, making them visually suitable for top gastronomy. There they have begun their triumphal march and van Nahmen has continuously expanded the range. For example, Haschberg elderberries from Mönchengladbach, rhubarb and Rubinette apples from Rees, Elstar, Jonagold and Topaz from Bislich and the „Altes Land“ and apples from orchards of 180 orchard contract partners.
In addition to the single-variety gourmet juices, products such as fruit seccos and Sparkling Juicy Teas are now successful throughout Europe in the increasingly important non-alcoholic beverage segment.
