Pol Roger Winery

„170 years of excellence and independence.“

Champagne fans who want to drink their way past the classic and globally renowned corporate brands could end up at Pol Roger.

It is not only one of the few family-run businesses in Champagne, but also one of the best. Today, the fifth generation is at the helm.

Pol Roger was originally a merchant before he started producing Brut Champagne in 1855, which was (already) favoured by the English at the time. Irony of history: around 100 years later, Winston Churchill of all people was one of the house's customers. in 1975, a cuvée was even dedicated to the statesman.

At the beginning of the 2000s, the winery experienced a strong surge in development. Sales and marketing were reorganised, new cuvées were created and the entire estate was renovated and modernised. Today, around 92 hectares of vines are cultivated. In addition, high-quality grapes are sourced from other producers.

Apart from the Blanc de Blancs, Pol Roger stands for wines with a high proportion of Pinot Noir. Even the "Brut Réserve" cuvée matures for four years sur lattes, the prestige cuvée for as long as eleven years.
