Wieninger Winery
"Typically Viennese it should be."

Whoever says "Vienna" must also say "Wieninger" - at least when it comes to wines from the capital region. With his high quality standards, Fritz Wieninger has contributed a lot to Vienna's good reputation as a wine-growing region. His wines are exported to 45 countries.
The family business produces the classic variety of this landscape on vineyards on the Bisamberg and the Nussberg, which are separated by the Danube and clearly differ in climate and soil structure. The Bisamberg with sandy loess with a chalky subsoil is excellently suited for light wines, while in the stronger area the Chardonnays and all red wines are captivating. The Nussberg, characterised by shell limestone and limestone weathered soil, is ideal for planting Gemischtem Satz, Riesling, Grüner Veltliner and Traminer.
Fritz Wieninger is always concerned with wines that are strong in character and authentic. Thus, he was largely responsible for the revival of the Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC and has been a member of the Wiener Traditionsweingüter, which classifies Erste Lagen in Vienna, since 2018.
The winery has been farmed biodynamically since 2006. It is also a member of the sustainability-oriented respekt-BIODYN winegrowers' association.
