Wine of the week

Korrell Traisen Rotenfels Riesling dry 2022

The flagship winery from the Nahe region, which has now switched to organic viticulture, has produced this wonderful Riesling from the extremely steep Rotenfels vineyard especially for Pese Wein: light yellow in colour with green reflections. Expressive aroma with notes of ripe peaches, fresh lemon peel and some candied lemon, with a hint of mandarin orange in the background. Delicate floral hints and subtle herbal spice. Balanced on the palate with crisp but ripe acidity, juicy fruit, subtle spice and convincing length.

The Easter gourmet package

It's not long now until we can celebrate spring, asparagus and the good life alongside the Christian high masses at Easter. Naturally, we have thought about this and as a result we have put together a package with three different wines, each in duplicate - in case guests are present.

April 2025 wine package

No joke - our wine package for April

Our wine package for this month is all about 15 April. This is the official start of the asparagus season. Easter is shortly afterwards. So there's plenty of time to indulge in culinary delights.

Latour 2016 - the rebirth of the 1961?

One should be sparing with superlatives, especially because they wear out over time and become implausible. But in the case of the 2016 Château Latour, they are all appropriate. This is nothing less than the perfect wine from a very great vintage.

Almost all the major reviewers gave it 100 (20) points. And the list is long: Decanter, Antonio Galloni, James Suckling, Vinum, René Gabriel, Jane Anson, Lisa Perotti Brown, Fallstaff and even the always very strict Neil Martin all agreed: there can only be the highest rating!

The Château has only released a limited quantity. The wines will arrive at our warehouse in May.

Les Forts de Latour 2019

Probably the best second wine of all Bordeaux Chateaux, this reflects the strong character of its big brother, although the higher proportion of Merlot provides more red-fruity nuances in the flavour. This is accompanied by light floral notes that lend the wine freshness.

The asparagus season begins on 15 April

White wines are generally drunk with asparagus. However, we are not of the opinion that there is "the" asparagus wine, because there is also no "the" asparagus recipe.
