Dominus Estate Dominus 2018
Once again, the Napa Valley legend Dominus has been awarded 100 points. However, not in Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate for the 2018 - he only gives it an "economical' 99+. This time, James Suckling gives it 100 - as does the American critic Jeb Dunnuck. Great concentration of flavours, deep, dark fruit, lots of soft, ripe tannins - the 2018 "Dominus' offers everything you would expect from a Bordeaux Premier Grand Cru. Bordeaux flavours such as lead pencil, blackcurrant and dark cherry densely interwoven with chocolate. Despite its rich aromas, the 2018 never seems loud or even unbalanced - on the contrary: it presents itself with exemplary elegance and finesse. More "Bordeaux' is hardly possible far from the Gironde ...
