The 2017 "BIN 798" is a single varietal Syrah from fruit sourced exclusively from the Barossa Valley and matured in French oak with 70% new wood. The "RWT", as it is also called, is a deep, complex wine that smells of raspberries, blackberries and plums, violets, five spices, smoked meat and liquorice. On the palate, the wine is enormously powerful, mighty and deep. It is just at the beginning of a 20- to 30-year-old life and has been awarded 98 points by Australia's iconic critic JAMES HALLIDAY.
