Winery Prager Zwerithaler Kammergut Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Magnum 2020

Wachau, Austria, Weißwein, Grüner Veltliner
1.50 l

The Zwerithaler Kammergut occupies another special place in Prager's portfolio of absolutely exceptional vineyards. Toni Bodenstein had the opportunity to lease a 110-year-old two-hectare plot from Melk Abbey - with a wide variety of Veltliner genetics. The Grüner Veltliner produced here seems quite shy at first, but becomes increasingly complex from year to year until it reaches perfection. As a result, this wine receives scores of 98 points (WINE ADVOCATE) or 98-100 (FALSTAFF). The wine is reminiscent of meadow herbs, yellow and green plums, apricots and mango, tobacco and crushed slate. On the palate, it is elegant and dense, yet fresh and mineral with great finesse and a unique interpretation of the terroir.
