The 2018 Blaufränkisch from the Golser Ungerberg vineyard comes from biodynamically cultivated vines on calcareous soil with iron veins. The wine was fermented in stainless steel and matured for 15 months in 10% new and 90% used barriques. The ruby red wine is powerful and elegant at the same time with notes of red and black berries, cherries, blood orange zest and some oak. On the palate, the full-bodied, dense texture, creamy mouthfeel, richness and simultaneous precision in the tannins and elegant acidity are impressive.

Since 1664, everything in the Achs family has revolved around viticulture. Since 1990, Paul Achs Junior has been running the winery on the northern shores of Lake Neusiedl and has expanded it from 12 to 25 hectares of cultivated land. The vineyards are located around Gols and are spread over 40 parcels of land whose very different potential is consistently exploited.
