The composition of the cuvee of the Tenuta San Leonardo flagship is interesting in itself. The 60% Cabernet Sauvignon is still quite typical for a Bordeaux blend, but the second position is occupied by 30% Carmenère. Of course, this is also an old Bordeaux variety - but it hardly plays a role there any more and is now more associated with Chile. 10% Merlot completes the very unique mix. In the 2018 vintage, international wine critics praised the wine's finesse, mouthfeel and balanced structure across the board.
