Château Batailley 5ème GCC Pauillac 2023
The 5ème Grand Cru Classé from Pauillac is a prime example of the full class of this vintage. In contrast to the previous vintage, the wines are somewhat leaner overall and have an animating acidity. Batailley shows a very dark berry aroma, typical of Pauillac, but also typical of Batailley. With this performance and this great price/enjoyment ratio, it is a challenge for much more expensive wines from this appellation. Especially in this vintage, one of the best value cru classés ever! 95-96 JS
