Château Batailley
Château and park of Batailley are among the oldest in the region, the wines among the most traditional Pauillacs, but the art of winemaking is at the cutting edge thanks to the Castéja family.
Château Batailley 5ème GCC Pauillac 2023
The 5ème Grand Cru Classé from Pauillac is a prime example of the full class of this vintage. In contrast to the previous vintage, the wines are somewhat leaner overall and have an animating acidity. Batailley shows a very dark berry aroma, typical of Pauillac, but also typical of Batailley. With this performance and this great price/enjoyment ratio, it is a challenge for much more expensive wines from this appellation. Especially in this vintage, one of the best value cru classés ever! 95-96 JS
